We run no server of our own. Your steps, your collection, and your items never leave your device. The one exception is advertising: Pokegg shows ads through Google AdMob, and AdMob collects device information in order to serve them.
Pokegg reads your step count to advance the egg. Steps are read through Apple's Motion & Fitness (CoreMotion) and Health (HealthKit) frameworks. Health data is used solely to wake the app when new steps arrive, so that progress continues while the app is closed.
On iOS 26 and later, Pokegg records a walking workout while something is placed, so that the shell can crack as you walk and the app can show your steps, distance and time. By default the walk is saved to Health and Fitness as a walking workout. You can turn this off in Settings › "Save walks to Fitness"; the walk is then discarded when it ends.
Your step counts, collection, and items are stored only in the app's own storage on your device and are never transmitted. There is no account, no login, no server of ours, and no analytics.
Pokegg shows banners between the rows of the Dex and at the end of the Tool list, and a rewarded video if you refresh what you are carrying many times in a row. Ads are served by Google AdMob, which may collect device identifiers, coarse location, and app usage in order to deliver and measure them. Your health and step data are never shared with AdMob or anyone else.
Google's own policy explains what it collects: Google Privacy & Terms. On iOS you can limit ad personalization in Settings › Privacy & Security › Tracking, and in Settings › Privacy & Security › Apple Advertising.
On Android, Pokegg counts steps with the phone's built-in step counter sensor, which requires the Physical activity permission. While something is placed, the app keeps running in the background as a foreground service so that it can keep counting; Android requires such a service to show an ongoing notification, which reads "화면 위에 올려 두었습니다". Counting stops when you lower it or after 8 hours. Step counts stay on your device and are never transmitted.
The egg floats over other apps using the "Display over other apps" permission, which you turn on yourself in Settings. It only draws the egg and its progress; it does not read the screen or anything you do in other apps.
The app shows your egg on the Dynamic Island and Lock Screen using Apple's ActivityKit. This runs entirely on your device; no push notifications and no remote updates are used.
Deleting the app removes everything it stored on your device. Health, Motion and Physical activity access can be revoked at any time in Settings. Data held by Google AdMob is governed by Google's policy, linked above.
Pokegg does not knowingly collect information from anyone, including children under 13.
